Program Summary

CPC60212 Advanced Diploma of Building & Construction (Management) is well suited to those in the building construction industry and new to the industry who want to develop knowledge, skills and competencies to enable them to undertake job & project roles in managing, administering and supervising  high rise or large, complex building construction projects.

The program helps course participants establish sound building development and construction skills that will meet the project criteria for time, cost and quality control.

Program Aims

This qualification suitable for those who wish to co-ordinate the construction of a buildings where they are responsible for the overall completion of large building developments, construction management and services handling complex projects and processes.


This qualification combines best practice theory with practical workplace applications. Participants will gain an understanding of the specialist skills and knowledge required to become a construction manager or building construction project manager.

Builder Registration

This program also meets in helping develop competencies in building construction management & development for those wishing to develop or enhance their professional skills for registration as a Building Practitioner.

Module & Unit outcomes are a prescribed and preferred qualification for Builder Registration as specified through the VBA for those wishing to become a Registered Building Practitioner (RBP) in Commercial Licensing.

Participants who are enrolled as part of our Advanced Diploma Course are automatically eligible without further cost for our Builder Registration Support Program.

The Builder Registration Support Program is a comprehensive Builder Registration Support Program that involves both Mentoring & Training in all key competencies together with:

  • Preparation of your Document Portfolio
  • Coaching you for the interview with the Building Practitioners Board
  • Helping you prepare your Application for Registration
  • Reviewing your Application prior to lodgement with the Building Practitioners Board

It is recommended that Potential Learners:

  • Have Basic Language Proficiency in English
  • Have Basic Literally Proficiency in English
  • Have Basic Numeracy Skills
  • Have access to a computer hardware with internet access
  • Be able to operate computer programs as email, word processor and spread sheet applications at a basic level

Licensing, Legislative, Regulatory or Certification Considerations:
A “construction induction” CPCCOHS1001 Work safely in the construction industry or equivalent “white card” is required by WorkSafe Victoria before entering any worksite.

Assessment Process

All assessments will be conducted through the on-line learner portal through CAS-BCM’s Learner Management System.

How and when assessments will be conducted

  • Individual Unit Element Activities will form part of the Face-to-Face Sessions and collected electronically on-line through learner portal
  • Project Assignment will be collected after every Independent Study periods; collected electronically on-line through learner portal
  • Work-Based Project Assignments will be due on after the completion of Unit of Competency
  • Skills Session outcomes will be due on after the completion of Unit of Study

Assessment processes and techniques are, as far as is practical, take into account the language, literacy and numeracy capacity of the learner in relation to the competency being assessed.

Recognition of Prior Learning – RPL

Participants can opt to undertake the program through an RPL Program (Recognition of Prior Learning), it is a form of assessment that recognises skills and knowledge gained through formal training conducted by industry or education, work experience or life experience.
